Acronicta tridens caterpillar · tridantis strėlinukas, vikšras

  • dark dagger
  • Dreizack-Pfeileule, Dreizackeule
  • tumšā ķiršu pelēkpūcīte

This moth cannot be readily distinguished as an adult from Grey Dagger (Acronicta psi) except by examination of the genitalia, although in the caterpillar stage this is not a problem as the species are quite different. The larva feeds on a variety of plants. This species overwinters as a pupa, sometimes spending two winters in this form.
