The eggs are laid separately in July on the leaves of the host plants. It overwinters at the caterpillar stage in the egg shell. The larvae feed on brambles (Rubus fruticosus), raspberry (Rubus idaeus), Rubus caesius, Sanguisorba officinalis and Filipendula species.
