Neatus picipes · juodvabalis

  • Tenebrio picipes Herbst, 1797

It lives in forests and neglected parks, orchards and gardens; also old deciduous trees standing alone, especially in damp areas. Found in holes, rotting logs, under protruding bark. Omnivorous, larvae saprophagous.

Body color black, rarely dark brown. Pronotum and elytra shiny. Punctation of pronotum varied – fine in the central part, partly thick at the lateral edges. Front shin almost straight, without a distinct arched bend.
