It is a trans-Eurasian temperate species, in Asia as far as Korea and parts of Japan. Males are about 6 mm whereas females are 7-8 mm. The spider prefers dry, rocky habitats. The female is brownish-yellow with a subtle pattern of dark streaks on the sides of the cephalothorax and on the abdomen; female's eyes with orange rim. The legs are colored like the rest of the body. The male takes on more contrasting colors - it is gray-black with yellow shins, black thighs and white pedipalps.
