The head, thorax, and abdomen are black. The scutellum is entirely white—an important diagnostic feature of the species. In males, the femora and tarsi are black, while the tibiae are white with black apices and knees. In females, the femora and predominantly the tarsi are also partially white. The female's antennae have white median segments, whereas the male's antennae are entirely black.
