en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Millipede

Millipedes are characterised by having two pairs of jointed legs on most body segments. Most millipedes have very elongated cylindrical or flattened bodies with more than 20 segments, while pill millipedes are shorter and can roll into a tight ball. Most millipedes are slow-moving detritivores, eating decaying leaves and other dead plant matter; however, some eat fungi or drink plant fluid.

Pirmas segmentas be kojų, keletas sekančių turi po vieną porą kojų, likę segmentai sulieti, todėl turi po dvi poras trumpų kojyčių. Akys paprastosios, trumpos antenos galvos šonuose. Aktyvūs naktį. Dauguma saprofagai, minta yrančiomis augalų liekanomis.

Subphylum: Myriapoda (Šimtakojai) Class: Diplopoda, previously also known as Chilognatha Common name: Millipedes‥
