It can be found in western Europe and has been introduced in North America. Habitat: woodlands and gardens - typically found in rotting wood, on trees, just under the bark, or in leaf litter.
This millipede is readily identified by the combination of its pinkish-brown colour and prominent club-shaped projecting telson (i.e. with a thickened rounded tip). They are punctuated, but sometimes its difficult to spot the dots. They live a long time and it takes them three years to reach sexual maturity.
