Larvae and adults free on Populus, Salix leaves, oligophagous. Univoltine; hibernation as imago. Pronotums and elytras orange-yellow or intense red. Five black spots on each cover; the last two may disappear. Pronotum always with black spots at the base of the elytra; the seam of the covers without stains. Black scutellum. The last segments of the antennae are dark, the basal segments are yellow.
