Body oval, compact, rusty red or brown, clearly hairy. The first segment of the antennae is barrel-shaped, the last three segments of the antennae form a bulb. Can be found in forests, parks, gardens; it usually lives on mushrooms. Body length 2.6-4.8 mm. The larvae overwinter in the fruiting bodies of mushrooms.
