Adult body length 4-5 mm. Eriocampa ovata is similar but is more heavily punctured on the head and thorax and the orange on the thorax is restricted to the dorsal surface only.
Larvae feed on leaves of the various grasses including meadow-grass (Poa genus) species.‥
