The yellow labial palps of this moth readily distinguish it from several quite similar species. Adults are on wing in May and June. Larvae in spun leaves; also flower and leaf buds are eaten out. Pupation in a white cocoon on the plant. The larvae feed on Rosa and occasionally also on Rubus, Pyrus, Malus, Prunus, Cydonia, Myrica, Carpinus, Quercus.
