Distribution: Europe, Turkey, Caucasus, Russia (Europe to Far East), Kazakhstan, Iran, China, Korea, Japan. It is widespread in western and central Europe. Habitat: both dry and wet areas; tolerates salt marshes.
Prosoma dark red-brown, median stripe reddish, lateral longitudinal stripes not distinct, but not broken. Prosoma length: 3.3-3.9 mm. Sternum brown, frequently with bright median spot. Femur ventrally with broken annulations. Opisthosoma yellowish red to olive-brown with bright pattern. Spinnerets dark brown to black. Body length male: 7.0-9.0 mm, female: 7.5-11.0 mm.
