Cauchas fibulella is a day-active moth of the Adelidae family. It is known from most of Europe. The wingspan is 8–8.5 mm for males and 7.9–8.6 mm for females. A tuft of black hairs on the head. Front wings brown with light spots in the basal part (which may not be present) and light bands about halfway along the wings (which may disappear). Antennae with lightened tips, distinctly longer in males.

The larvae feed on Veronica chamaedrys and Veronica officinalis. They start feeding on the seeds. Later, they build a portable case from fragments of plant and start feeding on the leaves close to the ground. The moths are on the wing in June and fly in sunshine, often visiting the flowers of the foodplant.
