Chaetostomella cylindrica · margasparnė
- Flockenblumen-Bohrfliege
- Gebandeerde composietenboorvlieg
- osetnica tarczkoplama
It is found from UK and Scandinavia East to Kazakhstan, South to North Africa, Turkey, Afghanistan. Larvae feed in the buds of Knapweed and thistles.
The entire body is yellow. The eyes exhibit iridescence, shifting between green and red. On the center of the scutum, there are four dorsocentral setae (dc) located posterior to the thoracic suture (no dc setae present anterior to the suture)—an important diagnostic feature of the species. The apex of the scutellum is always black—another significant diagnostic characteristic. The wings have a distinctive pattern. The female is equipped with a long, sharply pointed ovipositor.
