Temnostoma apiforme · žiedmusė

Biotope: Mainly deciduous forests with extensive management. Adults feed on nectar, honeydew. The larvae developing in fallen deciduous trees feed on detritus.

Scutum is almost entirely black - the yellow spots on it are more modest than in other similar species of the genus. Black scutellum. The abdomen is black with yellow stripes on the abdomen, which, however, are often paler than in other species of the genus. These bands connect with each other at the lateral edges of the tergites.

Similar. Temnostoma meridionale and Temnostoma vespiforme – both have a richer pattern on the trunk, especially the scutum is more clearly decorated.
