Podistra schoenherri · minkštavabalis
- metsäsylkikuoriainen
It is found in Europe, but is rarer in the west and south. It is also found eastward in Asia. Podistra schoenherri is 7-9 mm long. The head is narrowed just behind the compound eyes, which are spherical and protruding. The antennae are darker towards the tip. The pronotum is smooth, with nearly parallel sides, slightly tapering forward. The hind corners are nearly right-angled, hardly protruding. It has no indentation at the posterior edge and has a surface that is not coarsely wrinkled or punctured. The legs are reddish-yellow, while the feet are often darker. The calves of the middle and hind legs are usually curved in towards the body. The elytra are grayish-yellow or brownish-yellow in color, often darker at the posterior edge. They hide the entire hind body and have quite long erect hairs. Similar to Podistra rufotestacea.
