It can be found in most of the Europe then east across the Palearctic to Central Asia and Siberia. Orthops basalis lives on various Apiaceae and have no specialization in certain genera. Both the nymphs and the adult bugs are often on the flowers, especially on the stems directly below the flowers.

Orthops kalmii is very similar; the length of the 3rd antennae segment is slightly shorter than in Orthops basalis. In my photos can be either of these species.
