cerambyx.uochb.cz/obrium_brunneum.php Obrium brunneum, a common species of European montane and submontane coniferous forests, develops in the thin dying branches and twigs of conifers. The larva feeds under the bark of various conifers (mainly spruce and fir) and pupates in a shallow pupal cell below the wood surface. The life cycle is 1-2 years. Adults occur from May to August, with peak in the late June. A common visitor of the blossoming forest flora (Apiaceae, Aruncus sylvestris, Filipendula etc.). Body length 4 - 7 mm.
